Small Businesses Against Tariffs participant Joann Cartiglia, who owns The Queen’s Treasures in upstate New York, spoke with NPR Marketplace about the reality of tariffs in this moment, and what she is going through:
Joann: “Every day is a new issue. We are still paying tariffs. I don’t feel confident about anything right now.”
NPR: “You were thinking about retirement, I understand. Are you still thinking about doing that?”
Joann: “That’s been kind of taken off the table … I am in the scariest financial situation of my life.”
