Coverage in Politico Illinois Playbook

Politico‘s Illinois Playbook covered Small Businesses Against Tariffs’ new education campaign running across Illinois and six other states amid the US-Canada trade war, timed for the start of football season:

ON BOARD: Small Businesses Against Tariffs, an advocacy campaign, is taking its message to the road — with a $1 million billboard campaign playing off local football rivalries in Illinois and six other states.

Their message: The billboards, backed by the Defending Democracy Together Institute, carry state-specific jabs, including: “What’s worse than Green Bay? Tariffs.” Other states in the campaign are Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Iowa.

The Illinois connection: Sari Wiaz, founder of Northbrook-based Baby Paper, is supporting the campaign. Wiaz says tariffs have forced her to raise prices on her products by 10% to 20% as she absorbs higher costs.
